I love bloggers. They spur my memories and my imagination. I was reading ParisBreakfast. She went on an outing. They were serving red fruit salad. That made me think of one of my favorite lunch places, a little French Bistro that I had not visited in awhile. They used to serve a nice cheese platter and Red Fruit Salad. I just loved it. How could I have forgotten?
This is the perfect time of year for it. Cherries are prime. Strawberries are still in season. Watermelon is in season. Red grapes are usually a little later in season, but I tasted them and they were so flavorful I just had to pick up a package.
You can use plums or pluots if you can find them or raspberries. Basically any red fruit. And, you can even sneak in some blueberries if you can find them. I know those are blue. Just don’t use apples. It is a texture thing. Save those for another time.
And, I have good friends that read my blog at the most opportune times. You know when I was complaining contemplating if I should buy vodka for my Chicken Pomodoro? Did it matter? Do I buy a big-o-bottle for such a small amount?
Well my friend Trish solved my problem with a gift of these little bottles. She said she picked up some of what she recognized and some she was not sure. She said if I could not use them for cooking, then… Cheers! Isn’t that funny?
It is hot at my house. While I love to bake it just does not make sense to contribute to the problem. So if it is hot at your house, or for all of you having a picnic or entertaining at home, mix up a huge bowl of Red Fruit Salad. You will be very popular.
No skills required. If you know someone that does not cook… Suggest this salad when they want to know if they can bring anything. For those working and don’t have time to bake, bring this Red Fruit Salad.
I think it is just gorgeous and it tastes even better.

I know this is delicious now while all of these fruits are in season; but, wouldn’t it be so pretty to serve at Christmas or Valentine’s! It looks delicious. I will have to pin this!
Ms. Lemon says
It would be pretty, but totally out of season. Maybe south of the equator. ???

I’ve never put liquer in my fruit salad before but something tells me it will be a hit in my house!
Ms. Lemon says
Obviously you can leave it out, but my family are all of age. At least at this gathering. You don’t have to put it in, but the Chambord is raspberry flavored, just another layer of flavor.
Thanks for stopping by.

Love fruit salad! Often top our with bubbly, but like the idea of the Chambord. This is one of those recipes I make at least once a year — almost always around this time of the year with all the great fruit that’s around. Your version looks terrific — thanks.
Ms. Lemon says
Thanks John. Hope you had a great holiday.

Such a beautiful salad and wonderful gift from your friend! I wish I could snatch the Cointreau and Grand Marnier right out of the basket for myself as I love those orange-flavored liqueurs. I’ll bet the Chambord was delicious on the fruit too!

I have plans for the Grand Marnier. For someone that doesn’t drink, I was delighted with my gift.:)
